We have participated in 3 surgical missions in the Dominical Republic.  We fly to Santa Domingo and travel with a mobile surgical hospital to our operating site.

The buildings that we use do not have consistent electricity or running water.  Although some parts of the Dominican Republic are reasonably developed, other populations in the country are very poor and lack medical resources.

We are unloading the truck and setting up our surgical hospital.

Our team performed about 140 surgical procedures in 2 weeks.  These varied from larger surgeries such as cholecystectomy and hysterectomy to facial plastic surgeries..

Many of our patients were children.

During out time in the beautiful Dominican Republic, we felt the earth tremble.  We learned later that day about the terrible earthquake at the other end of the island.
