Edenton is blessed with many great organizations . We consider it to be our responsibility to support the institutions that keep our community strong.
Brigid and I belong to and/or support the following community organizations:
Edenton/Chowan Boys and Girls Club (support)
In addition to being major financial supporters, we provide and personally serve dinner to the Boys and Girls about once yearly.
Brigid is a former Board member.
Edenton Lions Club (member)
Edenton Women’s Club (Brigid),
Edenton Historic Commission (support)
Our home was included on the annual Candlelight Tour of Homes to benefit the Edenton Historic Commission.
Pembroke Associates (member)
We are among this group of concerned citizens that combined funds to save and restore the historic Pembroke Hall.
Cotton Mill Museum (member)
Restoration of the Historic Mill Office Building has been our biggest community initiative. We purchased and restored this Building that houses the Cotton Mill Museum. We donate the housing for this important museum, allowing all other donated funds to go toward improvement of the museum. Brigid has served on the Board of the Cotton Mill Museum.
Chowan Arts Council
We are members. Brigid has shown paintings in their gallery in prior years.
Cupola House
We support this historic house and museum. Brigid was an artist in their “Easels in the Garden” fundraiser.
Optimist Club (support)
We received this award for our volunteer work at the Boys & Girls Club.
Cracking eggs for the Lions breakfast to benefit the blind. This yearly event raises funds to but glasses for needy individuals in our community.
